The Standards of RBLS Colour Bearing

The Standard should be looked upon as the rallying point of the Branch and as a constant symbolic reminder to Remembrance and the Legion`s Motto:

"Service Not Self"

Its colours are BLUE and GOLD.   In the dexter (upper left) corner is the Union Flag which is composed of the Crosses of St. George, St Andrew and St. Patrick, symbolising unity and chivalry.   The blue indicates loyalty and fidelity and the gold signifies service - "as gold is tried by fire".

Many Colour Bearers are specially selected by the Branch Members for this important post of honour, but it is essential that the person selected should be strong and well able to handle the Standard under all conditions.

Most of our ceremonial takes place around Remembrance time, but please surf to any of our Major events mentioned below for further information or details:

  • Beating Retreat.
  • President`s Night at the Tattoo.
